EMDR; Eye movement, Desentisization and Reprocessing Effective trauma therapy

This method was developed by dr.ph.d. Francine Shapiro in California in 1989. EMDR combines characteristics of different schools of psychotherapy (psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive, and systemic). EMDR is one of two methods demonstrated to give good results in relation to trauma treatment. Numerous controlled studies show persuasive results. The latest studies with trauma victims indicates that after only 3 sessions 84-90% of participants were free of symptoms. This refers to less complex trauma such as car accidents or experiences of assault. As well as trauma treatment EMDR has demonstrated its worth in relation to numerous other psychological conditions, for example depression, angst, phobias and obsessive compulsive disorders. I am qualified to utilise this method and have done so for almost 12 years
